Marking the 27th anniversary of the Rome Statute.

This day commemorates the adoption of the Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court. The aims of the day is to recognize the importance of international criminal justice and to advocate for the rights of victims of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide . The celebration of the International Criminal Justice Day is an opportunity to  educate the public about the importance of international criminal justice and the role of the ICC . Organizations and individuals use the day to  call on states and international actors to strengthen international justice mechanisms and support victims' rights .There are opportunities to learn about the international criminal justice system and advocate for victims. The “Global Initiative Against Impunity for international crimes: Making justice work” (GIAI) is a Consortium of eight international NGOs and the Coalition for the International Criminal Court, co-funded by the European Union, which aims to contribute to the fight against impunity by supporting a comprehensive, integrated and inclusive approach to justice and accountability for serious human rights violations and international crimes. Driven by this commitment, the Global Initiative launches MakingJusticeWork.org, the GIAI Knowledge Management Platform, a digital platform designed to strengthen the work of key stakeholders and actors engaged in the fight for accountability. The platform serves as secure and user-friendly digital space that aims to reduce barriers to information, coordination, and engagement.
