17 July: ICC marks Day of International Criminal Justice

26th anniversary of the Rome Statute


On this day 26 years ago, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was officially adopted. This international treated created the world's first and only international criminal court to try individuals for genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression. 124 countries are States Parties to the ICC Rome Statute.
